The Bridge
Service Details
Officially opening its doors in 2023, the Bridge is an all-gender shelter operating in a hotel setting, funded by the Province of Nova Scotia. The shelter provides residents with medical support through Nova Scotia Health, and housing support through Welcome Housing. Adopting a client-centered and harm-reduction approach to care, the Bridge operates as a 24-hour shelter, providing residents with two-three meals per day and occasional programming facilitated by staff and residents.

Who The Bridge supports
Despite being an all-gendered shelter, the Bridge has a designated floor for women, trans individuals, and gender-diverse people. Cis-men (both staff and residents) are not permitted on this floor.
This is a referral based intake program.
I thought that once I had housing, Adsum would be finished with me but that’s not the case at all. They are there for me when I’m having struggles but also there to hear about the positive things going on in my life.
