Ways to Give
Donate to Adsum
We know that secure housing is the answer to our housing crisis. Please help bring us closer to our vision of everyone having a safe and secure home by making a gift in support of the emergency shelter, housing, programs, eviction prevention, advocacy, and vital services we provide to thousands of individuals and families each year.
Make a Monthly Donation
Monthly gifts allow Adsum to plan for the future with confidence and allow donors to spread their donations over the year. From keeping the lights on at our shelters, to providing programming at our housing units, your monthly gift helps Adsum provide consistent services, support, and advocacy for women, families, and gender-diverse individuals across our organization.
Community Fundraising Events
Every year Adsum is fortunate to receive donations from companies, community groups, clubs, and individuals who organize events and fundraising campaigns. From raffles, car washes, BBQs and birthday events to casual days and payroll deductions, our work benefits from many creative fundraising activities.
Memorial and Tribute Gifts
Make a gift in memory or in honour of a loved one or a special event like a wedding, anniversary, or birthday. Adsum can send notification of donations to individuals and family members as requested.
Gifts of Stocks and Other Securities
Gifts of securities to Adsum help us do our work and they can also have significant tax benefits for the donor. We are happy to help you and your financial advisor with this type of donation.
Estate Gifts
Many donors choose to include bequests for charitable organizations when planning their wills. Estate gifts can have significant impacts on organizations while providing tax benefits for family members and/or other beneficiaries. There are a number of ways to make planned gifts including bequests, gifts of stock, life insurance, and charitable remainder trusts.

Help Adsum support the women, families, youth, and gender-diverse people that we serve. Donate items from our list or host a donation drive with friends, colleagues, or your community. Adsum accepts new, unopened, and unexpired items. We do not accept used items.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering for Individuals
Individual volunteers primarily support Adsum by cooking lunch, dinner, or weekend brunch for 20 people at Adsum House. Individual volunteers may also run services or workshops alongside our Programming staff for clients at our various locations that are tailored to your skills. One-off volunteer opportunities, such as event support, may also arise periodically.
Volunteering for Groups
Adsum also provides group volunteering opportunities. From maintenance projects like painting or gardening, to organizing our donation rooms, to meal preparation, group volunteering is a great way to team build and support Adsum’s work.
