It’s More than a Toque, It’s an End to Homelessness

Helping Canadians Without a Home

Halifax, NS, December 1, 2017

For twenty-one years, Raising the Roof’s annual Toque Campaign has worked with thousands of volunteers and supporters to provide long-term solutions to homelessness in Canada. Adsum for Women & Children is a proud partner of the campaign, and are selling toques, ball caps and mittens all over Halifax that support an end to homelessness.

We will commemorate over two decades of the Toque Campaign by taking part in the selling of toques for $15. This year we also have a Tiny Toque for $10 for infants and furry babies. Fifty percent of all proceeds raised locally will support our emergency shelter; Adsum House for women, youth and transgender individuals who are experiencing homelessness.

As part of the United Way’s, City Wide Day of Action, McInnes Cooper teams will sell toques at Purdy’s Wharf Tower ! pedway to Scotia Square, on December 7th. You can look for Adsum staff and community volunteers at these locations to purchase toques and products for everyone on your shopping list:

You can also pick up your toques now through February at any of these retailers:

Since 1997, the annual Toque Campaign has raised more than $8 million for over 200 community agencies across Canada. The collective effort between Raising the Roof and Adsum for Women & Children helps to support the over 400 women and families we house each year in Halifax and thousands of people experiencing homelessness across Canada.
